Have you ever wondered how wet wipes are made? Although wet wipes look simple, producing a high-quality product involves several carefully controlled steps, from raw materials to final packaging.
1. Nonwoven Fabric Preparation
Production starts with the selection of suitable nonwoven fabric. Depending on the product, manufacturers may use spunlace, cotton, bamboo, or other specialized materials. The fabric is then cut or processed according to the required wipe size.
2. Liquid Formulation and Preparation
The liquid solution is prepared according to the product's intended use. Depending on the formula, it may contain purified water, moisturizing ingredients, preservatives, fragrance, or other functional ingredients.
For products such as baby wipes or sensitive skin wipes, the formulation is developed with particular attention to mildness and skin compatibility.
3. Liquid Application
The prepared solution is evenly applied to the nonwoven fabric. The amount of liquid needs to be carefully controlled to achieve the desired moisture level and ensure consistent quality throughout the production batch.
4. Folding and Cutting
The fabric is folded and cut into customized size by the machines, adding the liquid at athe same time.
5. Packaging
The finished wipes are then packed in different formats, such as flow packs, tubs, buckets, boxes, or individual sachets. Labels, lids, and other customized packaging components can be added according to the customer's requirements.
6. Quality Control
Before shipment, finished products are inspected according to the agreed specifications. Quality checks may cover appearance, dimensions, weight, moisture level, packaging integrity, and microbiological quality, depending on the product.
